I dunno, its a …
I dunno, its a little odd of a test.

However I got sick of snapping mono lines and having sharks pop my line and have changed my reels to power pro braid. I haven't had a break yet. I fish around a lot of rock jetties and I fish for shark. The braid has held on better than any mono ever has. And I haven't heard that awful POP from a snapped mono line when my weight gets snagged and I need to pull to free it.

The only thing I use mono for is leader.

I've had experience …
I've had experience with all the lines used, I invite anyone to try this type of test on their own and post the reults in reply.

i have to disagree …
i have to disagree that the test is a fair one. the ledge would have been worn by the rubbings and consequtive wearing would take longer. thanks for the effort though.

In my experience …
In my experience with big carp, 12 lb diameter Power pro (50 B) test, kills 12 lb mono. The comparison took different factors into account, I figured most important was the line diameter for castability.
I've never tried 50 lb mono. too cumbersome to cast, too much line memory, hard to tie good knots.

In real life.. mono …
In real life.. mono is the strongest in rock abrasion. Braid is good for getting more on your reel and good for spinning rigs but mono is still more abrasion resistant to rocks than braid. Braid is good for fishing grass, trees.

power pro is by far …
power pro is by far the strongest.

even though you did …
even though you did it with different pound test lines, thanks for the test man =D

Just trying all the …
Just trying all the different lines to simulate the difference in breaking strains in the rocks. Gives you a better idea of what to use when targeting big fish that run deep and side to side such as carp. I realize the concrete is not as sharp, as it is granular and isn't covered in zebra mussles…

why would u test …

I invite you to try …
I invite you to try this test on your own. I never hear of "Tuflinexp", sounds like a laxative or something, but if it works for you, three cheers. BTW, canucks such as myself don't drink Old Milwaukee, I believe it was Molson Export or Stella Artois you see in the cup behind me…

lostmans1 @ 10:33 pm

This test is …
This test is rediculous. Line will lose something like 10% of its strength when fishing, due to being waterlogged. I'm a big saltwater fisherman and use braid on all my rods due to its strength to diamater ratio. Tuflinexp is by far the best braid out there. The test was funny though…..i wonder how many glasses of old milwaukee light this yankee went through to dream the brilliant test experiement up.

I can attest to …
I can attest to Power pro 50. In September 2007, I hooked into a 23 LB, 34 inch carp in the St Lawrence River. It got wedged between to large rocks deep down, I dragged about 40-50 feet of line by hand until it came loose, the fish was landed, the line had not even been frayed. Fireline 30 snaps at a light knick against sharp rocks.

KruxDL1211 @ 10:33 pm

Impressive. But …
Impressive. But still a controversial issue. In another video (TheSaltwaterEdge) they ran the same test and proved that mono was a stronger choice when facing fishing line against the rocks in a fight. True, your video defends public belief (and I am not saying your wrong), but it still cannot prove the strength of braid to the strength of mono. Sorry
