Just look up that title or penfishingrods on utube & you'll see many fine videos that were made from other happy customers who purchased the pen rod extreme combos from us. Saltwater is a rather gritty molecular structure that oxidizes anything it comes in contact with. I prefer to use my pen rod extreme in freshwater.

Hi Fizzlelick2, Thanks for watching. I would have to say it would all depend on the person who is doing the fishing. I know I could bring a striper up over 10 lbs with a pen rod extreme. However, fishing skills vary from angler to angler. The best advice to you would be to practice a lot with ultra light tackle. My record fish is an 18lb steelhead trout taken on 6lb line, in 30mph waters. Maybe one day I will convert the old cratridge tape to a dvd so I can upload it for all to see. Tight lines!

It is a wonderful travel rod & reel. I love going for trout with my personal pen rod extreme. I use the MX 15 rear drag, So far my record is a 6.2 lb brown and a 5 lb lake trout! I wish I had it on video. These look great!!! I saw soemthing like this on TV, and thought "What a GREAT idea!" See, I'm a lady who likes to fish, and I like to carry all my things with me in a very compact organized way (in my purse, preferably). I told my hubby about it, and he said,"yeah, that's nice, but it'll probly snap, cant catch anything big with that!" Looks like THESE solve that problem!! What a perfect rod!
